چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Double aortic arch (DAA) is a congenital anomaly of the aortic arch. It is the most common type of complete vascular ring. When it occurs, the connected segment of the aortic arch and its branches encircle the trachea and esophagus, leading to symptoms related to these two structures. Case Report: We present a case of a newborn baby who developed biphasic stridor immediately after a normal vaginal delivery. Endoscopic assessment of the trachea revealed a pulsatile narrowing at the level of the thoracic trachea, suggestive of an external compression. A contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan of the thorax with three-dimensional reconstruction confirmed the diagnosis of DAA with compression of the trachea and esophagus. Conclusion: Clinicians should strongly consider the possibility of a congenital vascular ring compression should an infant with a normal upper airway present with stridor. A precise diagnosis can be made by radiological examination.

Double Aortic Arch in an Infant With Persistent Stridor

In this case report, we present an infant who has a double aortic arch vascular ring anomaly. We emphasize the importance of maintaining a high level of clinical suspicion for vascular ring when evaluating an infant with the symptom of persistent stridor. Recognizing persistent stridor early and treating the underlying cause can, indeed, optimize outcomes. Case A 3-day-old boy presented to the ...

Cervical aortic arch and a new type of double aortic arch. Report of a case.

A case of cervical aortic arch is reported. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first to be associated with a serious intracardiac anomaly. In addition, it is part of a new type of double aortic arch, caused by failure of reabsorption of both dorsal aortic roots and persistence of the fourth right and second (or third) left branchial arches.

A Case of Prenatal Presentation with Double Aortic Arch

Double aortic arch (DAA) is a form of vascular ring found in approximately 1 in 2000–4000 pregnancies on fetal echocardiography. In some cases of DAA, respiratory compromise occurs during infancy due to compression of the trachea, which is completely encircled by the right aortic arch (RAA) and left aortic arch (LAA). RAA and left arterial duct were initially seen on screening fetal echocardiog...
